Virginia Children's Chorus

This 2025-2026 season is our 34th year teaching children from all around Hampton Roads to sing for joy!  Not only do students receive excellent vocal music education, they have many opportunities to perform for the community and to learn by performing with other students, with college students and with professional musicians.  This season, we will collaborate on performances with the Virginia Symphony Orchestra & Chorus, Ballet Virginia & Symphonicity for "The Nutcracker", the Norfolk Chamber Consort and even the Pink Floyd cover band, Floyd Nation!

One of our goals is to provide tuition assistance whenever the family of a student needs help to enroll their child in our program.  We work hard to remove any financial barriers so that every qualified student can be a part of VCC.  This season, 20% of our students received scholarship funding totaling over $7,500.  

Recognized as “Hampton Roads’ premiere children’s chorus,” the VCC is an educational organization committed to training the voice as well as offering extraordinary concert opportunities. Our mission is to enrich the lives of participating children through the study of choral music and to share their love of music through performances in our community and in other parts of the world on tour. VCC’s auditioned singers, ages 5-18, come from every corner of Hampton Roads.

VCC has four choirs to serve children from kindergarten to twelfth grade.  The choirs rehearse during the school year.  All choirs have sight-reading instruction and give performances in the Hampton Roads community.  The Virginia Children’s Chorus presents two festive family concerts each season and our older choirs perform regularly with the Virginia Symphony and the Virginia Arts Festival.  VCC presents many local community concerts and has toured Virginia, Maryland, Washington, D.C., New York City, France, Great Britain, the Canadian Maritime region and New Orleans.  Singers, ages 5 to 18, at any level are invited to audition.  Auditions for the VCC are held annually in January, June, and August.
