The Planning Council

A nonprofit organization

Since 1941, The Planning Council has been a proven leader in addressing the ever-changing needs of our community. From engaging with the community to identify pressing unmet needs, to conducting rigorous research and data-analysis that validates and clarifies those needs, The Planning Council crafts well thought out, evidenced-based solutions. We then convene the right partners, design and develop responsive programs, and lead implementation efforts. Many of these initiatives evolve into independent, sustainable organizations – creating a long-lasting impact. The Planning Council offers a trusted, strategic partner unlike any other with a strong track record of turning vision into measurable, systemic change. There is no other organization quite like us.

Our work for the community puts nutrition, health, and safety at the forefront of the programs and services we provide. If our families are homeless and at-risk today, it costs us all more tomorrow. If our children do not receive nutritious food, they cannot grow and learn. If our neighbors are not living in ideal environments, they cannot thrive. If we all cannot thrive, we cannot help build the future.

The future of our communities – and The Planning Council – depends on you. These challenges cannot be addressed without intentional investment. Your financial support is not just appreciated; it is essential. Without it, the needs will grow and opportunities for impact will be lost. Help us because together, we can build a healthier, safer, and more equitable future for all.

Your support will:

  • Strengthen family foundations by giving parents of children with special needs the time to rest, reconnect, and care for one another. Without Respite Care, the relentless demands can strain marriages and leave siblings feeling overlooked - increasing the risk of fractured homes.
  • Provide underprivileged children with access to nutritious meals and quality care. Without CACFP, childcare providers will be unable to afford healthy food options, shifting costs to families and leaving young children hungry and unsupported during critical developmental years.
  • Enable individuals experiencing homelessness to secure housing more quickly. Without strong CoC and HMIS programs in place, access to housing becomes less equitable and efficient, and we lose the ability to track which programs work best.
  • Ensure the needs of individuals in our communities are met. Without identifying who requires assistance and where service gaps exist, resources cannot be effectively allocated, placing overwhelming burden on existing social service programs.
  • Protect youth from violence. Without implementing initiatives to deter violence resulting from conflict, the children of our future will not complete their education, secure gainful employment, and lead fulfilling lives.
