Team Chuck Holden

Hello, I’m Charles “Chuck” Holden, a member of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the Rocks, Inc. and a founding member of the HRC ROCKS Chapter in Newport News, Virginia, where I had the honor of serving as the Founding President. I support Give Local 757 because I’ve experienced firsthand how life-changing support and mentorship can be.

As a young man, I faced challenges and uncertainty about my future. My path began to change through my time at Norfolk State University and in the military, where mentors believed in me, pushed me, and refused to let me give up. Their guidance gave me direction, confidence, and the opportunity to grow into who I am today.

That commitment to mentorship became a central part of my own journey. I had the privilege of serving as Assistant Professor of Military Science at Southern University from 1983 to 1987, and later as Professor of Military Science from 1995 to 1998. In those roles, I taught and mentored young students who aspired to become military officers, helping guide them toward leadership, discipline, and purpose.

Now, I’m committed to paying that forward. Through Give Local 757, we have the chance to provide others in our community with the same support, encouragement, and opportunity that helped transform my life.
