$10,000 Goal

During Give Local 757, we’re asking for your help to raise $10,000 in funds to help cover the medical care expenses we are facing.

The Peninsula SPCA saves over 1,000 pets in our community every year by providing shelter, medical care, and finding forever homes. Adoption fees only cover a small portion of these costs when caring for our shelter pets, with medical care being by far the largest expense we face. In fact, the Peninsula SPCA spends more than $100,000 on medical care for shelter pets every year.

You can help animals in need like:

 Here's how you can help:

  • $15 Provides a rabies vaccine for a shelter pet
  • $30 Provides vaccinations for a cat when it arrives at Peninsula SPCA
  • $50 Provides vaccinations for a dog when it arrives at Peninsula SPCA
  • $75 Covers bloodwork for a senior shelter pet who may have a medical condition
  • $100 Provides a spay or neuter for a shelter cat or dog
  • $250 Treats one dog who has tested positive for heartworms
  • $500 Helps save a life by providing a specialty surgery for a shelter pet suffering a life-threatening or chronic condition

Your donation will save a life!

A friend to the animals and the Peninsula SPCA, Shelley Fink-Brackett, has also pledged a donation match of $5,000 during Give Local 757, which means all donations up to $5,000 raised during Give Local will be MATCHED dollar-for-dollar, doubling the impact you will make!

Did you know that the Peninsula SPCA relies solely on community donations to operate?

The Peninsula SPCA is a private, nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter that receives no public funding and relies on the community for support to keep the benefit of an adoption-guarantee shelter alive for the Virginia Peninsula community’s citizens and pets. We are not affiliated with the ASPCA or other national organizations. Thanks to the support of animal lovers like you, we have become a safety net for the Peninsula’s most vulnerable pets, taking in pets whose owners could no longer care for them and reducing euthanasia in over-crowded shelters through our transfer program. The Peninsula SPCA devotes its time and resources to finding forever homes for the animals in our care and to and to advocate for the humane treatment of all animals in our community.

By supporting the Peninsula SPCA you are truly Giving Local!
