Eggleston Services: Guided by a belief that all people’s abilities should be valued, Eggleston endeavors to improve the quality of life for people with disabilities at work, at home, and in the community. Eggleston’s mission is to create education, training, and employment opportunities to empower individuals while strengthening families and building more inclusive communities. Eggleston was founded in 1955 by a small group of parents who planted seeds of hope for their adult children. What began 70 years ago as Tidewater Vocational Center serving 7 individuals, later became the Louise W. Eggleston Center Inc., which now serves over 1,800 adults annually across Hampton Roads. Today, Eggleston delivers 21 different person-centered programs and services designed to remove barriers for people with disabilities and foster individual empowerment.

Who We Are

Since 1955 Eggleston has empowered adults with disabilities in Hampton Roads by creating meaningful opportunities for them to thrive at home, at work, and in the community. Eggleston has 16 different programs and services that provide support services in the areas of employment, residential living, day support, and community engagement.
