The Early Childhood Music School (ECMS) is dedicated to helping children of all ages explore their world through music and movement.  This year we are celebrating our 37th  year as a vital part of the music community in Williamsburg! We are raising funds for our outreach program Elliot's Song. Elliot's Song works with Head Start and Bright Beginnings programs to provide free music and movement classes to at-risk and developmentally delayed children in the WJCC area.  We also work with the Charles Center at William and Mary to help train and empower college students to lead classes alongside our staff.Elliot's Song was founded in 1998 by Cindy L. Freeman in a response to the absence of music education in the local child development centers in our area. Since then Elliot's Song has grown to reach over 600 students a year. This year is the 20th anniversary of our program being renamed to Elliot’s Song in honor of Elliot Provancha’s passing. Elliot was one of our program students who, like others, thoroughly enjoyed his time in music class.

Who We Are

The Early Childhood Music School (ECMS) is a 30 plus year music program that provides music and motion education to children as young as two month up to older elementary students. All of our classes include singing, listening, instrument play, and movement. Our youngest classes are parent and me guided group that guide young families to engage musically with their young ones. At our oldest levels elementary age children work on keyboard skills as well as singing and ensemble development.
