ChainBreakers, Inc. is a community-centered nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening families and transforming lives across Portsmouth, Virginia. Through our signature initiatives, the ChainBreakers Reading Enrichment Program, Nourish the Neighborhood, and as the Local Program Partner of Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, we address critical needs in literacy, food access, and early childhood development. We are committed to equipping children with the skills to read proficiently, ensuring that Portsmouth families have access to nutritious meals, and placing books in the hands of our youngest learners to build a strong foundation for lifelong success. By combining educational support, community partnerships, and compassionate outreach, ChainBreakers is breaking cycles and building brighter futures - helping Portsmouth families to thrive, not just survive
