$5,000 Goal
Helping us meet our goal of $5000 would sustain our Breakfast, Art, and Choir programs for an entire month—providing consistency, creativity, and care for our neighbors!
The Need:
As the need continues to grow (reflected in data showing a 94.9% increase in unsheltered individuals in Virginia between 2015 and 2024*), consistent, relational spaces like NSCP become ever more essential. What we offer is not just programming, but a consistent, relationship-centered community where people can show up as they are and be met with dignity.

At its core, the work of The Norfolk Street Choir Project is about more than art, it is about offering hope. It is about creating space for transformation, where individuals are seen, valued, and supported as they take steps forward in their lives. And, it is about loving our neighbors as we love ourselves.
About Us:
Because the NSCP values the inherent worth and dignity of every person, we engage our neighbors in need through the arts in a joyful, affirming, and safe environment. Through music and visual art, individuals who are often unseen or unheard are given the opportunity to share their stories, build relationships, and experience a renewed sense of dignity and belonging. Our model is rooted in consistent, relational engagement—creating space not just for participation, but for connection and trust.
Each week, participants gather for choir rehearsals and expressive art sessions at Freemason Street Baptist and First Lutheran where they are invited not only to create, but to be known. These spaces foster connection, encouragement, and trust—offering a consistent presence of grace in lives that are often marked by instability and hardship. Through song, storytelling, and artistic expression, participants discover their own voice and are reminded that their lives hold value and meaning.
Alongside our arts programming, NSCP provides access to basic services such as meals, showers, and a stable mailing address, helping remove immediate barriers so participants can fully engage. Through strong community partnerships, we also serve as a consistent point of connection for individuals navigating homelessness. Each week, we engage between 100–130 individuals, creating a reliable and welcoming space where immediate needs are met and deeper relationships can grow.
