The Agape School of the Virginia Peninsula is excited to welcome students in grades K-2 in August 2026...developing scholars who walk by faith, operate in wisdom, and spread love. Mentally, spiritually, and intellectually equipped, they confidently use their God-given gifts to better the local and global community.

Located inside Denbigh United Presbyterian Church in Newport News, we are grateful for our community partners helping make it possible for families seeking a holistic, Christ-centered, high-quality educational experience. Our sliding scale model offers families of all income levels the opportunity to make this educational choice for their children.

Our GiveLocal757 Campaign will help open our three classrooms and generate Scholarship Funds for families who qualify.

What is The Agape School all about?

  • Holistic, Christian education focuses on helping children develop lived values, emphasizing our command "To Love One Another!"  Children and families of all faiths are welcome to apply and attend.
  • Hands-on learning, prepares students to be passionate learners, deep thinkers, and effective problem solvers.
  • Developing essential foundational virtues and strong relationships help students thriveThey will fulfill meaningful roles in their school community, develop a sense of belonging, practice cooperative problem‑solving, experience and practice empathy, and other formational habits.
  • Life-expanding enrichment, including music, physical education, STEAM, and more propels holistic growth. We're grateful for the continued conversations with Soundscapes, the YMCA, The Mariner's Museum and other partners excited to provide opportunities for our scholars in and out of the classroom.  These include art classes, visits to area museums and cultural centers, exposure to other languages, and much more.
  • Cultivating a service‑leadership mindset  encourages environmental stewardship. Students will learn to care for natural resources, tend gardens, practice reduce/reuse/recycle habits and inspire the community to take meaningful steps toward protecting our planet.

We invite you to be a part of making this possible for families in need of scholarship support! Thank YOU!!!
