Serve the City Peninsula

A nonprofit organization

$11,140 raised by 43 donors

Serve the City Peninsula is a volunteer-driven nonprofit that connects everyday people with meaningful ways to serve their neighbors in need across Newport News, Hampton, and York County. We mobilize volunteers to complete practical projects—yard work for elderly residents, minor home repairs, community clean-ups, meal distributions, and more—so that every act of kindness becomes a step toward stronger, more connected neighborhoods.

We partner with local organizations, schools, and city agencies to identify real needs and respond with love, dignity, and respect. Once powered entirely by volunteers, Serve the City Peninsula is now supported by a small part-time staff who provide consistent leadership, coordination, and community engagement—ensuring every project is safe, well-organized, and impactful.

As part of the global Serve the City movement, headquartered in Brussels and active in more than 100 cities worldwide, we’re committed to showing kindness in practical ways right here at home. Your support helps us serve more neighbors, empower more volunteers, and build a Peninsula where everyone feels seen, valued, and cared for.
