Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center

For 52 years, Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center (PPCC) has served individuals, couples, and families on the Virginia Peninsula.  Faithful to our mission, PPCC guides people toward wholeness and health through professional counseling, consultation, and education, while respecting and integrating their personal and spiritual values.

PPCC is committed to serving those with limited financial resources. While many clients utilize their health insurance to cover the cost of counseling, PPCC also has a Client Assistance Fund which makes it possible for clients to receive counseling if they are uninsured or underinsured.

Since 1973, PPCC has provided more than 250,000 counseling sessions.

PPCC also offers preventive services in the way of educational events and workshops to the community. In 2022, PPCC launched a training program for interns and residents who provide services at our satellites in Williamsburg and Hampton where they offer groups for refugees and counseling to the underserved and homeless.

Who We Are

The Peninsula Pastoral Counseling Center (PPCC) is a nonprofit organization that offers professional counseling and consultation in a faith context. “Professional counseling and consultation” has to do with our professional, highly qualified, state licensed staff. “Faith context” has to do with our awareness of spiritual issues and the way that the faith of our clients is a potential resource for healing. We respect the beliefs of our clients and do not impose our own beliefs on those we serve. Trained to integrate the gifts of behavioral science and of faith, we care for people who are struggling with marriage or family tensions, anxiety, depression, spiritual distress, and workplace issues. We treat adults, adolescents, and children. We also work within the financial means of our clients. We hope to help people to be more at peace with themselves and with each other.
