$5,000 Goal

Homes Fur Hounds is a non-profit registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. We are a small non-profit and rely solely on donations and community support. We are all volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs. 100% of our donations go to help the animals. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the state, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Unlike many small rescue groups, we are willing to take in heartworm positive dogs, seniors, blind and deaf dogs, pregnant moms and dogs with known medical issues such as diabetes.

We do not have a shelter facility and operate solely out of foster homes. This ensures that all of our dogs learn the skills they need to be successful family members when they move to their forever homes.

We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs that come into our rescue before adopting to pre-screened homes. To date, we have placed over 1,100 dogs in loving homes.

Our goal is simple: to find great, lifelong, loving homes for as many small dogs as possible.

Some of our Happy Tales

Meet Chipper! When he first arrived, he was severely emaciated and on the brink of starvation. His malnutrition was so severe that his bones were fragile, and he even broke his leg from a small jump. Chipper required surgery to fix his leg, and thanks to days like today, we were able to provide the necessary medical care. Now, Chipper has found a loving family who is dedicated to helping him adjust and feel at home.

Meet Auntie Em! She isn't the typical dog we usually take in, but her story is special. Abandoned, heartworm positive, pregnant, and left in a cold shelter, Auntie Em needed urgent help. Thankfully, one of our fosters stepped up to care for her. Em gave birth to four beautiful puppies, all of whom are thriving in their new homes. She also successfully completed her heartworm treatment and is now heartworm negative. Em has been with us for three years, making her our longest foster. She's a wonderful dog with a lot of potential, but she needs to be the only pet in her future home. We are fully committed to every dog we rescue, and thanks to generous donations from days like today, we can keep her happy and healthy until her perfect family comes along. Our rescue runs solely through donations.
