For over 30 years, Habitat for Humanity Peninsula & Greater Williamsburg has built and renovated homes for nearly 200 families.
Habitat homes are made possible by sponsorship and volunteer labor, including 400 hours of “sweat equity” the homebuyer must provide. Habitat homebuyers must have income between 45-80% of the area median income, excellent credit and the ability to pay for their new Habitat home. Habitat homes are sold at no profit with a zero-interest, 20 to 30-year mortgage carried by Habitat. Monthly mortgage payments are then recycled to build more Habitat homes.
We cannot continue to build homes for low-income families without the support of our local community.
Join us today as we raise the funds to build affordable homes for hardworking, low-income families in need!
For 40 years, Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg has been transforming lives by building affordable homes in partnership with families across our community. This year, as we celebrate four decades of impact, we invite you to be part of our legacy.
Our goal is to raise $40,000 — one thousand dollars for every year of service — to continue building strength, stability, and self-reliance through shelter.
Since 1985, we’ve built 233 homes and renovated over 500 more for families in need. But the need is still great.
Your donation helps fund the materials and services needed to build homes and provide zero-interest mortgages to families with low to moderate incomes. Each Habitat partner family puts in sweat equity by helping build their own home alongside volunteers—creating not just housing, but pride, community, and hope.
Every dollar brings us closer to a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Your generosity builds more than homes — it builds futures.
Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg partners with area families, local government, businesses, faith groups, schools, associations and individual volunteers and donors to build and renovate affordable homes for sale to qualifying families.
An ecumenical group of individuals formed this local affiliate in 1985. We started our first home in 1986 and, since then, our affiliate has constructed and renovated over 600 houses in our local community!
Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg serves Virginia families with low and moderate incomes in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson and Williamsburg, plus the counties of Charles City, James City, New Kent and York.
