Habitat for Humanity Peninsula & Greater Williamsburg

Habitat for Humanity Peninsula & Greater Williamsburg  brings people together to build affordable homes and stronger communities across the Virginia Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg. Since 1985, we have built over 235 homes and renovated hundreds more for local families.

We serve families with low to moderate incomes in the cities of Hampton, Newport News, Poquoson, and Williamsburg, as well as Charles City, James City, New Kent, and York counties—providing a path to homeownership through affordable, zero-interest mortgages. Habitat homeowners invest in their future by contributing sweat equity and purchasing their homes, and their mortgage payments are reinvested to help build more homes for the next family.

This year, through Give Local 757, we are raising funds for Austin Landing in Newport News—four new homes that will expand access to affordable homeownership in our community. This housing development is named in honor of Lorraine and Ed Austin, recognizing Lorraine as the founder of Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg and her lasting impact.
