What We Do

F2F provides students with innovative educational programs that are service-oriented in an effort to end sexual assault. These unique events teach students how to address sexual violence in their community openly and to support survivors through interactive activities.

Our signature Hour 2 Empower event brings together students and community members to assemble F2F AfterCare Kits and iCare Kits. Community partners, including organizations and universities, then distribute these thoughtfully packed kits to victims of sexual assault who endure the hospital PERK (physical evidence recovery kit) exam.

During this exam, sexual assault victims’ personal belongings and clothing are often collected as evidence. Our F2F AfterCare Kits offer a "gift of hope" to these survivors, preserving their dignity and providing essential items like clothing and toiletries, as well as therapeutic tools. To date, F2F has distributed over 36,000 AfterCare and iCare Kits.

Why We Matter

The statistics are staggering. According to RAINN (Rape, Abuse & Incest National Network):

1 in every 6 women and 1 in 33 men will be victims of sexual assault during their lifetime, with only 1 in 3 victims reporting the assault to law enforcement.

Among American children, the impact is especially heartbreaking: 1 in 9 girls and 1 in 20 boys will be sexually abused before they reach 18 years old.

The number “2” in Fear 2 Freedom is also a statistic. When F2F was founded, someone in the United States was sexually assaulted every 2 minutes. 

Today, that number has increased to nearly every minute.

While we applaud awareness campaigns like the #MeToo movement and the fact that more victims are now empowered to report sexual assault, that is still an appalling statistic.
