The mission of Edmarc Hospice for Children is to ease the trauma of a child's illness or death and to reduce the disabling effects of pediatric illness, loss, and bereavement on families.
Elliot's Song provides free specialized music education to preschool children in our community who are at risk for academic failure due to financial or developmental disadvantages. During each session a carefully structured music-based curriculum provides tools for developing language skills, motor skills, socialization skills, cognitive functioning, and music literacy.
Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia and the Eastern Shore
In our mission to lead the effort to eliminate hunger in our community, the Foodbank has distributed over 313 million pounds of food equating to over 261 million meals throughout our 4,745 square mile service area, which includes 11 cities and counties in Southeastern Virginia and on the Eastern Shore. During the 2015-2016 fiscal year, the Foodbank distributed over 18 million pounds of food equating to 15 million meals to the community.
Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg
Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope. Habitat for Humanity Peninsula and Greater Williamsburg partners with area families, local government, businesses, faith groups, schools, associations and individual volunteers and donors to build and renovate affordable homes for sale to low-income families on the Peninsula, in the Greater Williamsburg area, as well as the counties of New Kent and Charles City.
