Give Local 757 is a 24-hour community giving event that unites Hampton Roads around the nonprofit sector, building a stronger region — and this year, we're asking you to help us build something that matters.
Youth Volunteer Corps of Hampton Roads has championed youth-led service as the foundation of stronger communities since 2009. We engage youth ages 11–18 in hands-on, team-based service learning that address real community needs — while building the leadership, empathy, and career-ready skills they'll carry for life.
Without YOU, a young person's potential waits — and a community's needs go unmet.
There are youth in Hampton Roads right now who are ready to lead, ready to serve, ready to find their purpose, ready to become someone their community needs. But readiness without opportunity disappears. It gets replaced by disconnection, disengagement, and a widening gap between what young people could be and what the world asks of them.
Without your support, that gap grows.
Playhouses don't get built for children who are sick. Meals don't reach food-insecure neighbors. Elderly residents lose a companion. Individuals with special needs lose a team that shows up for them. Trails go unrestored. Animals go uncared for. And more than that — a teenager who could have discovered their purpose spends another year without it.
We can't close that gap alone. No grant, no partnership, no program can replace the power of a community that decides its most vulnerable neighbors are worth investing in.
