To support the literacy needs of at-risk and homeless children.

REACH (Reading Enriches All Children) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency established in 1998. REACH supports literacy initiatives to spark a desire to read. Volunteers share books with children by reading aloud in emergency and family shelters as well as offering reading programs and books to at-risk children. Last year REACH provided:
 310 Read Aloud sessions to 987 young children
 15,756 books distributed, valued at $55,984
 1,145 volunteers who gave 3,241 hours to support the mission through special events, fundraising, and the read aloud program.

I'm a REACH Read Aloud Reader and while visiting one of our partner shelters, I decided to bring some extra Christmas themed books for the children. A four year old little girl walked up to me and asked, "What is in your red bag? I said, "I'm delivering books for Santa. Do you want a couple of books?" "Yes!" she exclaimed and chose Cinderella and Frozen. With great excitement, she held them up and showed them to one of the shelter workers and said, "I knew Santa would find me!"
