Megan's Fundraiser Page

My name is Megan Danaher. I am a freshman at Christopher Newport University and I serve as a team leader with YVCHR. 

In the fall, I started volunteering with YVCHR. I wanted to serve as a team leader because during my youth I had many volunteer opportunities that have left a lasting impact on me, shaping my values and my character. Truthfully, without those experiences I know I would be a very different person and would not have been led to my current career aspirations of public service.

Coming to college, I wanted to find an opportunity to give back and help youth. I learned about Youth Volunteer Corps and saw it as the perfect opportunity to be able to help give that same opportunity to youth while positively contributing to the wider Newport News and Hampton Roads area. Volunteering across a variety of projects and seeing the ways the youth grow as individuals is very rewarding while they can see the positive impact they are having. 

Through your donation, you are helping youth be able to serve, develop life skills, and foster a lifelong love of service that will hopefully stay with them into adulthood and the amazing things they will achieve.
