Katie's Campaign: Where Compassion Meets Purpose

I’ve seen what happens when a young person is given the chance to serve. It changes everything.

Since 2010, I've been involved with YVCHR--first as a YVC club sponsor and then as the executive director. I'm blessed to say I’ve spent the last (almost) 9 years leading a mission I deeply believe in.

Every day, I watch young people step into something bigger than themselves. They show up unsure — and leave with confidence, purpose, and real-world skills that will shape their futures.

And the data backs up what we see. New national data from Gallup — a survey of more than 3,000 young people ages 12–25 — shows that youth-led service produces measurable, lasting results:

• 79% of youth say service helps them feel more connected to their community
• 52% say it improves their career readiness
• Youth who serve are significantly more likely to feel confident handling life’s challenges (66% vs. 52%)

Even more powerful? When service is youth-led — like it is at YVCHR — young people report higher confidence, stronger problem-solving skills, and a greater belief in their future 

This isn’t just volunteering. It’s transformation.

But here’s the reality:
There are teens in our community ready to serve right now — and without support, they won’t get that chance.

For just $256, we can provide an entire year of service-learning for one young person.
