Our Mission

The mission of the Housing Development Corporation of Hampton Roads (HDCofHR) is to provide quality, affordable rental housing in safe neighborhoods to low-income individuals and families, the homeless, and the disabled. 

How Your Support Helps

The HDCofHR team acquires and rehabs housing units in Newport News and Hampton. Every dollar we receive helps us acquire and rehabilitate newly acquired properties—turning vacant housing into safe, welcoming spaces for families to thrive. Your financial contribution will go directly to fund the purchase, refurbishment, and maintenance of these units, which include single homes, apartments, and townhouses. We welcome support at any level.

HDCofHR believes that everyone deserves a safe, stable, and affordable place to call home. Since 2005, we have been dedicated to transforming lives and communities by providing quality, affordable rental housing opportunities to those who need them most—low-income individuals and families, the homeless, and persons with disabilities.

Our work is made possible through partnerships, community support, and ongoing funding from both public and private sources. Together with our partners and supporters, we continue to restore hope, and strengthen the Hampton Roads community, one family at a time.
