The Newport News CASA program is a non-profit organization founded to advocate for our community's most vulnerable children, those who have experienced abuse and neglect. Court Appointed Special Advocates are appointed by a local judge to serve a foster child in need.  CASA volunteers are everyday people who generously volunteer their time and talents to support children in crisis.  Using a trauma-informed approach, CASAs ensure a child's mental, physical and educational needs are met.  Many times, a child's CASA is the only consistent presence during the foster care experience.  Research shows having a caring, consistent adult in a child's life can have a positive lifelong impact.

The Newport News CASA program recruits, trains, and supervises competent volunteers dedicated to representing the needs of abused and neglected children. The program promotes safe, permanent homes for all children and seeks to educate the community concerning the needs of abused and neglected children. If you'd like to help "Change a Child Story" by becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate, visit our website, www.nncasa.org, or please call us at (757)926-3642 to learn more about we do and how you can help.
