Homes Fur Hounds is a non-profit registered 501(c)3 tax-exempt organization. We are a small non-profit and rely solely on donations and community support. We are all volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs. 100% of our donations go to help the animals. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the state, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Unlike many small rescue groups, we are willing to take in heartworm positive dogs, seniors, blind and deaf dogs, pregnant moms, and dogs with known medical issues such as diabetes.

We do not have a shelter facility and operate solely out of foster homes. This ensures that all of our dogs learn the skills they need to be successful family members when they move to their forever homes.

We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs that come into our rescue before adopting them to pre-screened homes. To date, we have placed over 1,300 dogs in loving homes.

Our goal is simple: to find great, lifelong, loving homes for as many small dogs as possible.

All of our adoptable dogs can be found on our website

Meet Ginger and Pumpkin. These senior Shih Tzu sisters came to us after their family was no longer able to care for them. When they arrived, they both had terrible skin and ear infections. We also learned that Pumpkin was losing her sight. Earlier this year, Pumpkin completely lost her vision, but that didn't slow her down one bit. These bonded sisters have had great care and spent a lot of time healing - only possible because of days like today. They are sweet gals looking for the right family that understands their needs.

Meet Auntie Em! A Shepherd mix isn't the typical dog we usually take in, but her story is special. Abandoned, heartworm positive, pregnant, and left in a cold shelter, Auntie Em needed urgent help. Thankfully, one of our fosters stepped up to care for her. Em gave birth to four beautiful puppies, all of whom are thriving in their new homes. She also completed her heartworm treatment. Em has been with us for four years, making her our longest foster. She's a wonderful dog with a lot of potential, but she needs to be the only pet in her future home. We are fully committed to every dog we rescue, and thanks to generous donations from days like today, we can keep her happy and healthy until her perfect family comes along.

Say Hi to The Flower Girls! Mama Iris and her pups, Rose and Peony came to us from a backyard/hoarding situation when the pups were just a week old. Iris has been with us for a few weeks now and is a great mama. She and the puppies are thriving. It is only because of generous donations, on days like today, that we are able to care for this little Chiweenie/Terrier family. They will all be available for adoption soon. Iris is about 6 years old and 15 lbs. She is described as "exceptional" by her foster mom. The puppies are currently 3lbs of adorable puppy-ness!

Our rescue runs solely through donations.
Every single dollar helps!
We are so grateful.
