Welcome to Culinary Connections — a hands‑on teaching kitchen where every meal is an opportunity to learn, grow, and belong.

In our welcoming teaching kitchen in Virginia Beach, cooking becomes more than a task. It becomes a way to build confidence, develop life and job skills, and form meaningful connections. Through guided instruction and shared experiences, students gain independence while discovering the joy and dignity of working together toward a common goal.

Culinary Connections is an immersive learning experience tailored to individuals with disabilities and mental health challenges. From teens and young adults to veterans and older adults, our students learn practical culinary skills while strengthening communication, teamwork, and self‑confidence. Every class is designed to meet people where they are — and all are welcome!

This innovative program is powered by Easterseals PORT Health, a mission‑driven organization serving more than 20,000 individuals and families each year across North Carolina and Virginia. Guided by values of integrity, respect, responsibility, and innovation, Easterseals PORT Health works to create opportunities and support people in living, learning, and working in their communities.
